Sarcoid granulomatous interstitial nephritis and sarcoid abdominal aortic aneurysms.

چکیده
Sarcoidosis is a systemic granulomatous disorder of unknown etiology, characterized by chronic noncaseating epitheloid granulomatous inflammation with tissue destruction [1,2]. Renal involvement affects 20% of patients with sarcoidosis [1,2] and can be found in patients with no other localizations of the disease [3]. A common cause of renal dysfunction is hypercalcaemia and hypercalciuria leading to nephrocalcinosis [2]. Granulomatous interstitial nephritis (GIN) is also a cause of renal dysfunction, in which the clinical picture and laboratory evidence of tubular defects point to tubulo-interstitial nephritis [4]. Sarcoidosis is a systemic disease, affecting many organs. However, large vessel involvement such as aortic aneurysms due to sarcoidosis are rare, and only a few papers have reported aortic aneurysms complicating sarcoidosis [5–7]. We report a case of renal sarcoidosis complicated with saccular abdominal aortic aneurysms, confirmed by histology of the surgically resected aortic wall.

[Granulomatous interstitial nephritis in the absence of extrarenal sarcoid].
BACKGROUND Renal disease in sarcoidosis may occur due to granulomatous interstitial nephritis. However, granulomatous interstitial nephritis in the absence of features of extrarenal sarcoid, or other causes, has been reported very rarely. In this report we describe seven such patients. METHODS Since 1995, we have identified a number of patients with biopsy-proven granulomatous interstitial ne...
متن کاملTreatment of sarcoid granulomatous interstitial nephritis with adalimumab
Sarcoidosis is a systemic disease with multiorgan involvement which can cause renal failure through several different mechanisms. Granulomatous interstitial nephritis is an important albeit less frequent cause of clinically significant renal disease. Herein, we present the case of a 46 year old woman with a history of sarcoidosis whom we evaluated for rapidly worsening kidney function and prote...
متن کاملIsolated Renal Sarcoidosis Presenting with Granulomatous Interstitial Nephritis: A Case Report and Review of the Literature
Background: Sarcoidosis is a multi-system disorder characterized by noncaseating epitheloid granuloma in multiple organs. However, granulomatous interstitial nephritis in the absence of extrarenal renal lesions is very rare. Case presentation: A 64-year-old male presented with a weight loss of 10 kg and an increase in serum creatinine from 1.1 to 4.8 mg/dl over a 1-year period. At admission, no...

Onset of the disease is observed before the age of 16. 10% of patients suffer chronic anterior uveitis which is a major cause of v...
متن کاملFamilial aggregation of Crohn's disease and necrotizing sarcoid-like granulomatous disease.
Granulomatous inflammatory diseases are disorders of an undetermined etiology, affecting different organs and having a diverse clinical course. Familial aggregation of these disorders is being reported increasingly, most commonly familial Crohn's disease. We described the coexistence of Crohn's disease and necrotizing sarcoid-like granulomatous disease in two siblings from a first-degree consan...
